Part 7 - What's My "Why"?
This message invites us into a profound understanding of our identity and purpose in Christ. Drawing from Ephesians 2:8-10, we're reminded that salvation is entirely by grace—a gift we could never earn through performance or good works. Yet here's the beautiful paradox: while we're saved by grace alone, we're saved for a purpose. We are God's workmanship, His masterpiece, created in Christ Jesus to do good works that He prepared in advance for us to do. This means that before we were even born, God had already set the table for our lives, arranging divine appointments and opportunities that would bring Him glory. The potter's wheel and the anvil become powerful metaphors for how God shapes us through life's trials and seasons. Every hardship, every challenge, every moment of refinement is preparing us for what He has already prepared for us. The question isn't whether we'll accomplish great things by worldly standards—it's whether we'll be faithful in what God places before us, whether it's caring for a sick spouse, showing kindness to a struggling waitress, or sacrificing in ways only God sees. When we settle the 'why' of our lives—that everything is for His honor and glory—the 'what' becomes secondary. We become change in His pocket, ready to be spent however He desires.
