Part 3 - Who is He making me to be?

Jamie Stilson

This message invites us into one of Scripture's most powerful metaphors for understanding God's work in our lives: the potter and the clay from Jeremiah 18. We're reminded that our journey isn't about discovering our own purpose, but rather His purpose for us. The central question shifts from 'What should I do?' to 'Who am I becoming?' This distinction is transformative. When we focus on being rooted in Christ and allowing Him to shape our character, the decisions about which doors to walk through become much clearer. The sermon draws us into the potter's house where Jeremiah witnessed clay being shaped, marred, and reshaped according to the potter's vision. Paired with Psalm 139's beautiful declaration that we are fearfully and wonderfully made, we encounter a profound truth: God is actively forming us from the womb through eternity into the likeness of Christ. We're challenged to praise God for how He made us rather than resenting our design or fantasizing about being someone we're not. The message confronts our culture's rejection of God-given identity and calls us to embrace that we are His workmanship, His creative handiwork. Our purpose is ultimately to love and serve God with everything we are, allowing Him to display the incomparable riches of His grace through our transformed lives.
