Desert Lesson 4: Guidance is His Timing

What does it look like to trust God's timing when everything inside of us is screaming to move faster? In this session, we sit with a powerful image from Numbers 9 -- the cloud of God's presence hovering over the Israelites' camp. Sometimes the cloud moved after a year. Sometimes after a single night. The people had no say in the schedule. They simply had to be ready. This picture cuts right to the heart of one of the hardest spiritual disciplines we face: waiting well. The cloud is not a formula we can crack or a system we can optimize. It is a relationship, and relationships require us to surrender control. We are challenged to ask ourselves whether we are truly following God's lead or quietly trying to set the pace for Him.
