Desert Lesson 2: Guidance is A-S-K

What does it look like to trust God when the path He leads us down makes absolutely no sense? In this message, we dive deep into the Exodus account of Israel being led by the pillar of cloud and fire, and we discover something that cuts right to the heart of our faith: God sometimes leads us into situations that look like traps. The Israelites found themselves hemmed in, the Red Sea ahead and Pharaoh's army behind, and yet that impossible corner was not a mistake. It was a setup. A setup for a miracle that would belong entirely to God. We explore what it means to stop leaning on our own understanding, as Proverbs 3:5-6 calls us to do, and why the temptation to trust our own wisdom is one of the most dangerous detours we can take. When we engineer our own way out of a hard place, we rob ourselves of a testimony that points to God. But when we stay under the cloud, even when it leads us somewhere uncomfortable, we position ourselves to watch Him fight on our behalf.
