“If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.” Romans 10:9-10
At the Cape Vineyard we celebrate every time someone commits to follow Jesus as Lord. In fact, we make a call at the end of most of our services for people to make a first time commitment to follow Jesus. When someone stands to make this commitment, we celebrate together by ringing the bell—that's why it's our logo!
No matter what's happened in your past, you have a loving Father who is ready to accept you as His child. Just like the verses above say, all that you have to do is call out to Him and He'll receive you! There are no steps to earning God's grace. We just have to ask Him to come into our lives, and He will.
Salvation is a new beginning, not just a one-time event. An inside-out journey of reshaping your life that begins here and lasts for all eternity. When God made the world, He made it good and designed us to be in a close relationship with Him. Throughout the story of the Bible, humans have chosen sin and rebellion, which have separated us from God, but God continues to love us and invite us back into a new life—a relationship with Him.
